This might be considered sacrilege, but the Amstrad CPC was basically a later, better executed speccy. The hardware and firmware make for a better retro archaeology experience.
The ZX Spectrum is the only non vectrex retro console from that era that I find interesting. Clive Sinclair really seems like the UK version of what Steve Jobs propaganda portrays him as.
Also love the rainbow band. Arc Raiders copied it for a reason.
The Spectrum is an interesting machine and definitely Sir Clive is a very British counterpoint to the very Northern Californian Steve Jobs. The only thing I hate about the Speccy is the color palette.
